Hi, pinballers. Just thought I’d pass along this article published in Slate yesterday, an interesting look into the operations of Jersey Jack and his Wizard of Oz pinball endeavor:
Levin hits on some interesting points, in terms of modern pinball history and hope for the hobby’s near future. Though I personally prefer older pinball machines, and WOz is a tad newfangled for my tastes, Jack and I do share one major hope: that pinball itself can be dragged back out of the “home collector” realm and return to the hands of the public. While having a nice collection of pinballs is good for, you know, personal happiness, it’s crucial to the survival of the hobby that we have people putting games in public too.
If you have a minute, take a look! Then come see old Molls and take a flip tonight.
